The first few chapters of the book review the basic ideas in finite element analysis. The chapters that follow deal with Gauss-Legendre Quadrature, Galerkin formulation of One-dimensional Heat Transfer and Fluid Problems, the Organization of ANSYS Program, and Design and Material Selection. Some of the other topics like Graphic Capabilities, Unsteady Heat Transfer, Plane-Stress Formulation, Axisymmetric Formulation, Lagrange’s Equations, Engineering Design Process, and Space Trusses are also discussed. This edition is inclusive of many important additions like a section on Excel that deals with the manipulation of series. An appendix on MATLAB has also been added. A lot of emphasis has been laid on expanded derivations and theory. A Summary, Reference, and Problems are some of the sections included after each chapter. Six Appendices are included at the end.
