About Author

Kenneth J. Waldron is Professor Emeritus in the Mechanical Engineering department at Stanford University. Waldron has published other books such as Machines That Walk: The Adaptive Suspension Vehicle, Advanced Robotics, Mechanical Design: Theory And Methodology, and An Optimal Traction Control Scheme for Off-Road Operation of Robotic Vehicles. Waldron did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering in 1963. Later, he did his M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering and then DENG Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sydney. He also attended Stanford University to complete his PhD in 1969. He has been rewarded with various awards for his contributions. His expert areas include biomechanics, mechanical design, and robotics.

Gary L. Kinzel is an award-winning professor of mechanical engineering at Ohio State University. Some of his other books are Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Redrawing of Sheet Metal, Design of User Interfaces for Engineering Applications and Tools and Tactics of Design. Kinzel joined the Ohio State University in 1978. For his contributions to education, he has been honored with various awards. He was awarded the Ralph L. Boyer Award for Excellence in Teaching Innovation, College of Engineering Harrison Faculty Award for Excellence in Engineering Education, and others. He is known for bringing the use of computers in the process of teaching Mechanical Engineering.
