Download Kinematics, Dynamics, and Design of Machinery By Kenneth J. Waldron, G. L. Kinzel – Gary Kinzel and Kenneth Waldron use their extraordinary experience of more than 25 years in teaching and research in this book to offer a modern approach on the subjects of machines and mechanisms. A splendid refreshing perspective on kinematics and the dynamics of machinery, it is a complete book that comes loaded with theoretical as well as practical knowledge. It suggests various analytical techniques that do not require complex mathematics.
With a solid theoretical background, the book presents a set of otherwise diverse topics like robotics, planar mechanisms, and spatial mechanisms. This second edition of the book builds on the first edition and thus makes use of the vector approach for both synthesis and analysis. The authors focus on both graphical as well as analytical methods that help them set a stage for the students to be able to convert problems into computer algorithms.
Kinematics, Dynamics and Design of Machinery (With CD) is divided into sixteen chapters. The first one provides an introduction to the subject. The other topics covered here include Analytical Linkage Analysis, Shaking Forces and Balancing, Linkages with Rolling and Sliding Contacts, Gear Trains, Special Mechanisms, Static Force Analysis of Mechanisms, Dynamic Force Analysis, Joints On Moving Sliders, Spatial Linkage Analysis, Spur Gears, and Profile Cam Design. Other covered topics are Helical, Bevel, and Worm Gears, Planar Linkage Design, and Instant Centers of Velocity.
Some of the salient features of Kinematics, Dynamics and Design of Machinery (With CD) are that it offers authoritative and comprehensive coverage of the concerned subjects, it uses matrices and vectors to introduce mechanisms, and offers numerous real-world problems and practical examples that help students understand how to apply the fundamentals of kinematics in real life. Moreover, this second edition of the book comes along with a CD that consists of an enhanced set of MATLAB programs that can be used for analysis and design.
