Strength of Materials by G.H.Ryder was first published in the year 1953 by MacMillan and Co Limited. The main aim of the author behind writing this book is to give a clear understanding of principles underlying engineering design and a special effort has been made to indicate the shortest analysis of a wide variety of problems. Each chapter, starting with assumptions and theory is complete in itself and is build up logically to cover all the aspects of that particular theory. Separate paragraph numbers were indicated in order to enable a quick reference to be made. A summary of formulae, methods and principles is given at the end of each chapter.
